Book Review: My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent (Soul Screamers #3)

Title: My Soul to Keep

Author: Rachel Vincent

Series: Soul Screamers #3

Publication Date: 1 June 2010

Publisher: Harlequin Teen

Summary:

Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.

Until something does.

Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked.

And so is someone else…

My Thoughts:

I promised to finish this series back in December 2015, but then all my perfectly scheduled work blew out of the window, due to my November midterms, so well after I dropped reading this book at least 2 times, I finally finished it during summer 2016. Guess, my rule to finish all of the series that I have started is giving some effects, as I haven't started new series yet. *proudly stares at the window.

So, as I have mentioned alone, I have been starting and dropping today's pick a number of times. Long story short I was just getting tired of Kaylee's superhero complex; wait is that really the name of our protagonist? Fuh, that was a close call... Okay, so I was talking... Kaylee's superhero complex. Now, those of you who have read the  book will start: but she wants to help people and blah, blah, blah, I get that, I'm not saying it's wrong, but come on, she just wants to be everywhere and gets pissed off because Sophie doesn't acknowledge how she's constantly saving the world. So that's where my mean part comes in and tells at the book: "Ya know, just let it go, see what happens, let Avari go Khan on the whole planet and then just say: Told Ya so!" Sorry for the Star Trek metaphor, I'm just super excited to see Beyond (*writing all of this in June 2016, one more month until Beyond hits the big screens) I just went off the trail, let's get back.

Kaylee's so freaking focused on everyone else that she totally ignores her boyfriend, who if you ask me is a total a$$hole! Just get to last chapters, you'll want to rip him into pieces. And I come to a new dilemma, who do I ship now? I'm series, I'm pretty sure she'll either die at the end of the series or will stay with Nash, but how the hell he;s going to earn her forgiveness that's another question. I'm not forgiving him in the near future!

And with that, I'll end my review today, and try to start the next book, but I believe it's better I calm down a bit before that! Enjoy it to your fullest and don't forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos! Don't miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO
