Summary:

Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

My Thoughts:

Yes, you are not wrong, I'm finally reviewing Alienated by Melissa Landers. Are you wondering why now? Well, at the time of writing it's end of January and I'm on a break from University. Though it's not as cheery as I was planning it to be, it's great, plus I do not need to cook for myself and I'm not spending days reading all day long, my stepmom would object, but that's the reality.

But let's get back on track. Everything started with me seeing that I yet haven't read Collide by Melilisa West, I had to look through my laptop, iPad and even my online storage files to finally get it that I forgot to order it and actually have to. Then I remembered that there was something similar on my shelves with the whole Humans and Aliens, so I thought why not to read it and add to my growing pile of books and mangas that I have to review. And as you know it was the N2 reason of temporarily putting the blog on hold. But if you want to know about that head over to this post!

I loved the book! And once again I understand why I wanted to wait till I had the whole collection. The book made me laugh out loud, think and analyze everything. I agreed to most of the ideas expressed about humanity there and I was very happy to get to know Cara. I really thought that she would jump out of the pages and start talking to me. It was like the author conjured her, but she was living her own life! Her character was very close to mine, that was I believe another factor why I loved and supported her so much. Now, let's talk about Aelyx a bit, I hope I spelt his name correctly... He totally pissed me off in the very beginning. But the more I got to know him, the more I saw him change and become human I was team Aelyx in that instant. Well, there's only team Aelyx to begin with, but it didn't hurt to shout at both of them to realize their feelings.

I was truly horrified by the human nature that Melissa Landers portrayed in the HALO members. It was truly spectacular and I was questioning myself are we truly like that deep down or is there a Cara Sweeny living inside every one of us? I sure hope Cara is dominant in me and in the comminity that I live in!

Are you ready to see how a love can blossom between a human and an alien? What is going to happen once they get over their animosity and see each other in true colors? But what you truly should be ready for is the idea of the society that Melissa has portrayed! Enjoy it to its fullest and don't forgt to sare your thoughts below! Stay tuned for mroe rveiews as well as promos! Don't miss your next favoruite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO

Katie
