Book Review: Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman (Hot Damned #1)

Title: Fashionably Dead

Author: Robyn Peterman

Series: Hot Damned #1

Publication Date: 2 Sept 2013

Publisher:  ------

Vampyres don’t exist. They absolutely do not exist.

At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead?

Now I’m a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren’t bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I’m stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who’s teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator.

To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s possibly deadly. For real dead. Permanent death isn’t on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I’m his, it’s easier said than done. Like THAT’S not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I’m some sort of Chosen One.

Holy Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride.

My Thoughts:

Ah, no matter how many times I read this book it’s hilarious. I might have read it fully only twice, but who said I can’t read my favourite parts from time to time? But let me get back to the book. are you ready for some “fang” humour and action? Don’t worry no sparcles, only fantastic humour and coolection of prada whores. Therefore, if you love Prada, join the club, I’m in it, though I am not a Prada whore, maybe in the future!

Now, let me ask you some mild questions! Do you smoke? Do you want to stop but do not know how? If you answered yes, to both of the questions, meet Astrid, she’s like you. So do you want to stop smoking no matter the consequences? Then find a hypnotist, but beware, that might turn you into a vampype. No kidding there! But our story just doesn’t stop there. There are tons of fun stuff, especially character’s names and maybe even their appearances, I’ll spoil just one there's someone who looks like Oprah, yup, no kidding! You just have to get your coy now, I believe it’s free on amazon right now! And get into the lives of vampires. There’s a lot that we all knew, but there will be even more to the other” world.

Follow Astrid on her journey to cure her addiction of smoking and getting tangled up with a very important person. I know I’m trying not to spoil anything here, but it’s too damn hard. Have fun with Astrid and Ethan and their bickering, and I’m off to finally start the 2nd book of the series, it took me quite long to get it… enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below. Ayumu is absolutely in love with the young fashion designer Renji. She even enrolls in the same high school as him! After a certain incident, Renji finds out just how much Ayumu loves him, and that she's determined to help him with his clothing line, [BanDit]. He agrees to let her help him, but finds out that she could also be a talented designer (although she can't sew at all) herself!

My Thoughts

Review covers 24 chapters

Do you remember the manga that I have reviewed a really long time ago – The One? No? then please check it out, it’s awesome! But if you have heard of it, you know that it’s about modelling business. Well, because I had a great number of books and mangas to review (there are at least 20 new stories that I have yet to write a review for…) I thought it would be better to read an old already reviewed story, rather ten get more information into my head and forget what I should write. Therefore, after once again reading The One I started craving something model related, so if in the next few months you’ll find a number of mangas fashion related do not mind it, I’m having my mood swings!

This is a short story, but it’s absolutely cute and fun. There is nothing drama or tragedy like as in The One, mostly it’s fun to read. The story follows Ayumu, who transfers into a designer school to be close to the person she loves – Renji, as very well known designer. So will those two end up together or will Renji reject our cute and cheerful Ayumu? Don’t worry the story won’t disappoint you. We’re going to see a fantastic denial played by Renji in the first few chapters. But once those two finally acknowledge their mutual love everything goes smoothly, or dies it? That’s for you to find out! But beware, the story is not all fluffy, it’s lots of fun and romance, but it does have some serious issues outlined.

Enjoy it to your fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

Marumie is a nickname for Mie Maruyama who transferred from her local media announcer job to variety entertainment business. Her dream is to become an actress, but right now she's in the midst of comedy job. The real reason for her transfer was to meet her one-sided love for the super popular comedian Kanadagawa-san...!?

My Thoughts

Review covers 16 chapters

A very weird but funny romantic story that would have gotten full 4 leaves on the blog if not for it’s unfinished ending. When I first finished it I kind of liked the ending, however, the more time passed I hated for not giving us the straight answer whether those two would stay together forever. The whole “I like the way we are now” from the heroine made me snap.

The story is extremely fun, and if we don’t forget the idiot that is our heroine’s love interest, his controversial actions drew me mad, but I had dun too. I mean who wouldn’t? he says he hates her and the kisses her. It’s fun reading about it, but if you think about it, I wouldn’t have chosen him, the president was so much better.

Are you ready to read yet another story about showbiz? Don’t worry it’s small and cute in some ways! Get to know all the great characters and have fun with Marumie on her venture to get the heart of the man she loves!
