My Thoughts

Review covers 6 chapters

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Katie’s Corner. This is the third post for my May marathon of Satoshi Morie’s works. I found this work as a recommendation on one of the Facebook pages dedicated to manga and anime. The part that was shown was a really romantic one, so I thought that it will ne another romance from Satoshi Morie. But then again, with Satoshi-sensei you never have just romance, you get a lot of interesting stuff from it.

I fell in love with this manga from the first pages. I was on edge the whole time and my heart was erratic. No, I do not have an arrhythmia or something like that. Those abnormal feelings were from reading. It was not wholly pure love or something similar. It was sensual, sometimes even savage, but it still radiated love. The obsession with Seika’s white skin was portrayed in such words and colors that you just couldn’t get obsessed with it yourself. Both Seika and Akiharu are amazing characters. They are what you call humans. Seika is strong, but at the same time very fragile. And Akiharu is weak, but he finds willpower to keep on going. The two volumes had so much raw emotions that when I finished reading, I couldn’t compose myself for some time. Their pain, their love drew me in and I suffered and laughed with them.

If the first volume was amazing at description of Akiharu’s obsession and how their love grew more and more. Second volume was mostly focused on the drama and how both of the main characters grew as people. How they showed their insecurities and how they overcame the shock, which the last page of the first volume gave us. I do not want to reveal this secret; otherwise it will be just not so interesting to read the manga.

I would like to mention again Satoshi Morie’s drawing style. I love it, but after reading white porcelain, I fell in love with it again. How she shows the eyes, the way character goes from ballistic to a kind one in just a second. It is so real, that you forget that this is not real. I guess this is he most sensual manga that I’ve read by the author. It’s different from Love Sick and School Hotel. It is full of emotions, which have never been revealed at such extent in the mangas I’ve mentioned above. The author shows the human nature though Akiharu. All of it. She shows how it pained him to be apart from Seika, but how he could still not bear to set her free. All his thoughts and it was amazing. I can’t really describe the feelings that I had while reading. I wanted to read slower, but at the same time I wanted to know what would happen next.

I hope I perked your interest and you will find around 30 minutes to read this amazing manga. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy it to its fullest and stay tuned for more reviews and different events. Happy reading! Do not forget to share your thoughts below. I would like to know what you thought about it.

XOXO

Katie
